Components Bureau adds latest TUNS power module from Cosel

Intended for industrial and medical applications, the TUNS1200 is the latest addition to the TUNS series of power modules from Cosel. The 1200W AC/DC power module is claimed to deliver 21 per cent more power in a 36 per cent smaller footprint than the current 1kW industry standard.

It is packaged in a sealed housing with an aluminium baseplate and has a low profile of 12.7mm (0.5 inch) and weighs less than 280g.

The TUNS 1200F offers a wide input voltage 85 to 305V AC and output voltages 28V and 48V with a 12V model coming soon, says the Components Bureau. The model is approved to UL62368-1 and EN62368-1 with 2 x MOOP with 3000V AC input to output isolation and 1 x MOOP with 2000V AC input to isolation.

The module delivers its full power up to +85 degrees C baseplate temperature, and is able to operate safely at up to +100 degrees C with derating.

TUNS1200 modules can be paralleled up to nine units (up to 9750W) and their output voltage can be adjusted down to 0V and set to constant voltage or constant current operating modes.

The design is based on conduction cooling, making the TUNS1200 suitable for applications requiring a silent power solution, such as medical applications. Equally, it is suitable for industrial applications when forced air ventilation is impossible due to environmental constraints.

The TUNS1200 joins the 50W quarter brick, the 100W half brick and 300, 500 and 700W full brick modules in the series.

Components Bureau was acquired by Display Technology, the UK subsidiary of Fortec Elektronik AG in 2018.  Components Bureau offers AC/DC power supplies and DC/DC converters from leading brands. The company is a dedicated specialist of power related components and converters and has access to an extensive stock holding from UK headquarters and central Frankfurt hub.
