Connective Peripherals products are in stock at Farnell

Adapter boards and cables offering USB connectivity are available from Farnell as part of its Connective Peripherals range. As a result of the global distribution agreement, customers can simplify system debug and equipment maintenance using the products, says Farnell.

They simplify system debug and maintenance of equipment featuring serial ports by providing simple and reliable USB connectivity, says Connective Peripherals.

Field and lab-based engineers can use the products where it is necessary to connect to instruments or systems via serial ports to carry out field-based configuration, upgrades and maintenance. The product range enables modern PCs and laptops to use a USB Type C port to connect directly to legacy serial interfaces such as RS232 / RS422 / RS485, CANbus, SPI, I2C, or JTAG. All adapters and cables are designed to connect to any equipment. The cables are also available with connectors, bare ends or single-pole female receptacles, for use with systems that offer D-type connectors, header connectors or which require wires to be soldered to the board.

The range from Connective Peripherals now in stock at Farnell includes the ES-U-1001 family of full speed USB to RS232 adapters for equipment with serial management and debug ports. Powered from a USB port, the adapters provide a single RS232 port on DB9 connector for ease of installation. Data transfer rates are from 300baud to 250kbaud at RS232 voltage levels with 512byte receive and transmit buffers using buffer smoothing technology to allow for high data throughput.

The USB Type C High Speed MPSSE connects devices with 3.3V digital interfaces to USB-C. It includes a serial engine which enables it to emulate synchronous serial protocols such as SPI, I2C and JTAG. The end of the 0.5m cable has 10 single-pole female receptacles to provide access to the ADbus lines for the SPI / I2C / JTAG signals, as well as GND and VCC.

Also available is the USB2-F-7×01 full speed USB to one-port CANBus adapter to adapt CANbus devices to USB. Each USB2-F-7×01 adapter contains a small internal electronic circuit board mounted inside a plastic case which can withstand industrial temperature ranges. There is a choice of mounting options and LEDs to indicate functional status. It is suitable for use in a range of applications from a portable adapter to accompany a laptop up to permanent installations in industrial and commercial environments, advised Farnell.

Headquartered in Singapore, Connective Peripherals supplies communications and instrumentation products, and has expertise in serial connectivity. The company’s products encompass adapter boards and cables delivering connectivity between USB and serial interfaces, as well as USB based oscilloscopes, data loggers and logic analysers.

Farnell offers a full range of products to support electronic design and test and available for delivery from stock, with no minimum order value and an educational discount programme. Customers have free access to online resources, data sheets, applications notes, videos and webinars with excellent customer and technical support available 24/5 in local language.
