DC/DC converter series take up minimum board space
Miniature DC/DC converters in the ME300RU series from MicroPower Direct are designed to provide tightly regulated outputs at 3W of isolated power while packaged in a miniature SIP package that takes up a minimum of board space, says MicroPower Direct. There are 21 standard models in the series.
The standard models operate from 4:1 inputs of 4.5 to 18V DC, 9.0 to 36V DC and 18 to 75V DC, providing single and dual outputs of 3.3, 5.0, 12, 15, ±5.0, ±12 or ±15V DC. Standard features include an input/output isolation of 1,600V DC, ±1 per cent load regulation, continuous short circuit protection and a remote on/off control input.
The mean time between failure of the ME300RU series (per MIL HDBK 217F) is over 900khours.
All models in the ME300RU family are packaged in a miniature SIP case that measures 0.67 x 0.38 x 0.48 inch (17.0 x 9.45 x 12.2mm). All case materials meet UL94-V0 requirements. Each model is specified for operation over the industrial temperature range of -40 to +76 degrees C with no heatsinking required. Cooling is by free-air convection.
The ME300RU series is suitable for a variety of board level industrial power applications where performance requirements are high and board space is limited, confirms MicroPower Direct.
