Dengrove saves space with medically-certified 2W DC/DC converters
Available from Dengrove Electronic Components, the Recom REM2 isolated DC/DC converters save space in medical applications, says the specialist distributor, by delivering up to 2W and 2x MOPP (means of patient protection)/250V AC working voltage in a narrow SIP8 package.
The REM2 series is certified to IEC/EN 62368-1 and 60601-1 certifications and has reinforced 5.2kV DC/60s isolation, to help simplify approval of medical and scientific applications. The series is also covered by a CB report that eases certification of end products in countries operating the CB Scheme. The converters are EN 60601-1-2 and EN 55011-compliant, with the addition of a simple external LC filter, advises Dengrove.
In addition to streamlining conformity assessment, the REM2 converters achieve up to 85 per cent efficiency and operate over the -40 to +80 degree C temperature range without derating and 95 degrees C at 50 per cent load.
The REM2 series contains 32 variants comprising 3.3, 5.0, 9.0 and 12V single-output and ±3.3, ±9.0 and ±12V dual-output models. Nominal input voltages are 3.3, 5.0, 12, 15 or 24V.
The compact SIP8 package has a footprint of 8.0 x 23mm and, at just 12.2mm high, is particularly suitable for low-profile or portable equipment designs.
The REM2 converters are covered by a five-year manufacturer’s warranty.
