Dimmable 1A LED drivers can be used for strings up to 15 LEDs

LED driver modules available from Recom now include the RCDE-48 series. The LED driver modules have up to 60V DC input voltage and 1050mA constant current output with analogue or PWM deep dimming.

The RCDE-48 series modules provide up to 350mA, 700mA or 1050mA constant current to drive strings of up to 15, high brightness LEDs with efficiency up to 97 per cent. The input voltage range is 6.0 to 60V DC to suit 12V, 24V or 48V nominal supply rails. A 0 to 100 per cent linear analogue or PWM dimming input is compatible with 3.3V logic. This makes the RCDE-48 modules suitable for IoT nodes or µC dimmers. The dim pin can also be used as a remote on/off control. The devices can operate to high ambient temperatures (+80 degrees C for the 350mA part) without derating or forced cooling making them suitable for indoor and outdoor lighting applications up to 5000m altitude. All modules in the series have over- temperature protection, under-voltage lock out (UVLO), output open- and short-circuit protection for a high mean time between failure (MTBF) of 1.3M hours.

The modules are available in a standard DIP-24 package, measuring 32.1 x 20.8 x 12.3mm. Steve Roberts, innovation manager at Recom observed: “The RCDE-48 series of LED drivers is a low-cost solution in typical 48V lighting systems for strings of up to 15 LEDs when true dim-to-zero is needed”.

Samples and OEM pricing are available from all authorised distributors or directly from Recom.

Recom Power supplies a full range of DC/DC and AC/DC converters in every power class up to 960W alongside switching regulators and LED drivers in a wide selection of designs. It introduced the R-78 switching regulators which have become the industry standard.

The Recom headquarters in Gmunden, Austria includes a logistics centre and laboratory wing. Recom has a worldwide distribution network.
