Dimmable LED controller offers spread spectrum frequency modulation

For automotive lighting applications, Taiwan Semiconductor offers an integrated, dimmable LED controller for automotive lighting in a MSOP-10EP package.

The AEC-Q100-qualified TS19501CB10H is a single channel LED driver with low-side-current sense and which operates over the grade 1 temperature range (-40 to +125 degrees C).

It supports typical topologies such as boost, buck-boost and SEPIC and operates in DCM, BCM and CCM mode. The jitter function provides an effective spread spectrum to reduce EMI, adds Taiwan Semiconductor. Output current regulation is based on average current mode control supervised by a control loop. The fault flag is connected to a pull-up resistor from V DC. The fault status flag is latched by the timer when output is low.

Taiwan Semiconductor specialises in discrete devices (diodes, MOSFETs) and power management ICs. Founded in 1979 in Taipei, the company supports customers for automotive, lighting, consumer and industrial applications.

Production facilities in China and Taiwan meet the latest ISO-standards as well as IATF16949 and offer automotive customers AEC-Q101-qualified products.

In Europe, Taiwan Semiconductor Europe is responsible for sales with locations in Germany, France and the UK.

Taiwan Semiconductor employees 1,800 highly qualified people worldwide with sales offices in Asia, Europe and the USA.
