DIN rail power supply provides additional space for other rails

TDK-Lamba has added a 48V 480W output model to its DRB series of 15 to 480W DIN rail power supplies. The DRB480-48-1 is 84mm wide power supply, which provides additional space for other DIN rail modules, or the use of a smaller enclosure.

The DRB480-48-1 can be used for factory automation, industrial process control, semiconductor fabrication, communications and test and measurement equipment.

The DRB480 rugged metal case has a depth of 124mm and a height of 125mm. The power supply operates from a wide range 90 to 264V AC input enabling worldwide use, advises TDK-Lambda. The DRB480-48-1 has a 48V 10A output and features a DC OK relay contact in addition to an LED indicator. The output can be adjusted from 48 to 52.8V to compensate for series blocking diodes or MOSFETs in redundant configurations.

Input to output isolation is 3,000V AC, input to ground 1,500V AC and output to ground is 500V AC. The DRB480 is convection-cooled and rated for operation over -20 to +70 degrees C ambient temperatures (cold start at -40 degrees C), with linear derating above 50 degrees C to 62.5 per cent load at 70 degrees C. A high efficiency of up to 92 per cent reduces internal heating of the electrolytic capacitors, providing a field life in excess of 10 years with 24 hours a day operation at 75 per cent load, 230V AC input and 40 degrees C ambient.

The unit is certified to IEC/EN/UL/CSA 60950-1, UL 508 and is CE marked for the Low Voltage, EMC and RoHS2 Directives. It meets EN 55011-B, EN 55032-B, CISPR11-B, CISPR32-B and EN 61204-3 (Class A) radiated and conducted emissions. The DRB480 complies with EN 61000-3-2 (Class A) harmonic currents, the EN 61000-4 immunity standards and line interruptions to SEMI F47.
