DMM connectors from Nicomatic have 360 degree EMC backshells
French connector manufacturer, Nicomatic, has announced that its range of DMM Micro D mixed-signal connectors are now available with single or two-piece backshells for 360 degree shielding and protection of the cable/connector interconnect. The connectors are available on a six to eight week leadtime, which is, says Nicomatic, “significantly better” than the industry’s typical 16 to 20 weeks leadtimes.
The reliable DMM connectors comply with MIL-DTL-83513G specifications yet save space when compared to other Micro D connectors while offering configuration choices. The modular construction facilitates up to 10 million combinations of signal (LF), power (HP) and coax (HF) to be selected. The DMM connectors are based on a 2.0mm pitch. Options include board-to-board, board-to-wire and panel mount (one to four contact rows). Contacts can be removed, says Nicomatic, to simplify maintenance.
According to Alexis de Lassat, product manager: “The backshell option improves signal protection and devices can be used with a flange for increased shielding continuity when mounting on a panel.”
DMM MIL-DTL-83513G Micro D connectors are fabricated in rugged 6061 aluminium alloy.
