EasyPack 4B can be used for 1,500V DC solar string inverters

Used in photovoltaic (PV) inverters, the F3L600R10W4S7F_C22  lead type EasyPack 4B can achieve up to 325kW, says Infineon Technologies. The latest Easy power module allows an increase in output power of about 40 per cent compared to last generation PV inverter of 250kW using EasyPACK 3B, reported Infineon.

The module is suitable for 1,500V DC solar string inverters where it can enable a simpler but more powerful inverter design with higher power density and reduced system costs, said the company.

The F3L600R10W4S7F_C22 is the largest package in the Easy family with three DCB substrates. The no-baseplate design has a height of 12 mm and features PressFit pins and flexible pinout.

The 4B package extends the EasyPack 3B hold-down concept for low thermal resistance (Rth) and is also claimed to increase robustness and quality. In common with the existing Easy family members, the EasyPack 4B has optimised stray inductance for reduced design efforts.

The lead-type power module F3L600R10W4S7F_C22 features three-level NPC (ANPC) topology that combines the latest generation of 1,200V CoolSiC Schottky diode with the latest 950V Trenchstop IGBT7 chip technology for up to 600A.

ANPC is a popular topology in solar string inverters said to ensure high efficiency as well as low power losses.

The EasyPack 4B F3L600R10W4S7F_C22 can be ordered now. Easy 4B packages for additional typologies, current ratings and voltage classes will be coming later, confirmed Infineon.
