Eco|Mate series now includes quick lock, IP68 rated Aquarius Fathomlock connector
Amphenol Tuchel Industrial has expanded its Eco|Mate circular connector series with the introduction of the Aquarius Fathomlock model.
It offers a Quicklock system and enhanced IP68 waterproof rating for industrial interconnect applications.
The MIL-DTL-26482 based Aquarius plastic connector series comes with a 1/3 bayonet locking mechanism and durable, efficient and flexible, said Amphenol Tuchel Industrial.
The Aquarius Fathomlock has an auto-locking coupling system which enables significant time savings, said the company, as well as a seamless mating process. The tactile and audible clicking sound ensures a secure connection.
It can be easily unmated, with a simple 20 degree twist of the coupling ring on the plug. The protection class for this model has been increased compared to the standard model, and is IP68 / IP69K when mated. The connectors are tested watertight for minimum one hour at a depth of 1.8m which corresponds to one fathom in depth.
Marco Walser, EMEA product manager for circular connectors at Amphenol Tuchel Industrial, described it as having a time-saving coupling system and as a connector system which sets a new standard for reliability and user-friendly operation in the field of waterproof plastic connectors. “Our customers benefit from an interesting alternative to the 1/3 bayonet market standard. The series provides a wide range of options to meet their specific power and signal transmission requirements,” he added.
Initially, the connectors are available in three shell sizes 10, 12 and 14 and, according to the standard Aquarius range, further sizes will be added. Customers can choose between 17 contact arrangements including solutions for signal and power supply as well as hybrid solutions. Crimp contacts are available in sizes 1.0, 1.6 and 2.5mm with different contact platings. They can be also used with the standard Eco|Mate Aquarius and Rugged Metal series.
