Eight-port DIN rail PoE injectors have integrated or standalone options

Available with integrated premium power supply or as standalone device, eight-port Power over Ethernet (PoE) power injectors are available from PULS Power.

The DIN rail power supply specialist is offering the PoE devices to system builders. With up to eight ports and an integrated premium power supply at just 77mm wide, the AC input injector can do what normally requires a combination of at least two devices, reducing costs and space required on the DIN rail, says PULS Power. For systems with an existing system power supply the PULS standalone DC input PoE injection device is just 39mm wide, offering space savings, adds the company.

Using plug-and-play automatic device detection and classification, together with proven DIN rail mounting, PoE injectors are easy to install, claims PULS. As layer-two switching methodology is not required, real-time and security critical applications can be powered.

The PoE devices provide high performance capacity with PoE+ and Gigabit Ethernet and are robust, making them suitable for a variety of applications worldwide including industrial process and factory automation, medical and health care, smart offices, VoIP and telecomms, surveillance, airports and Factory 4.0 infrastructure.

Each of the eight ports delivers 30W (25.5W at load) and is compliant to IEEE Standard 802.3at. This enables PoE communication with a high number of devices using just one PoE injector, points out PULS.

System designers can specify a version with or without a built-in power supply, depending on the application; variants with less than eight ports are available on request.

Standard DIN rail mounting allows a simple and fast installation, claims PULS, with no complicated set-up or integration into the network required.

Key features include high efficiency up to 95.5 per cent, advanced inrush current limitation, active power factor correction, a compact size of just 117 x 39 x 128mm for PoE injector (DC input) or 117 x 77 x 131mm for the PoE injector (AC input).  Operating temperature range is between -45 to +85 degree C (DC input model) and -25 to +70 degrees C for the AC input model.
