Euroquartz adds high shock-resistant oscillator range from Statek

Independent UK-based manufacturer and supplier of quartz crystals, oscillators, filters and frequency control specialist, Euroquartz has launched a range of oscillators from Statek. The CXOLHG oscillators offer low power, fast start-up and high shock resistance characteristics in a surface-mount package measuring just 3.2 x 1.5 x 0.95mm.

The CXOLHG oscillator series features frequency output of 32.768kHz and achieves typical low power consumption of one micro A at 3.3V supply voltage. This is comparable with a tuning fork design, says Euroquartz, while fast start-up time of three milli seconds typical and tight frequency stability are as good as those obtainable with AT-cut crystal designs, it claims. The CXOLHG oscillator is also capable of withstanding shock up to 30,000g and above, significantly higher than that achieved by tuning fork designs.

With full military testing available, Statek’s CXOLHG oscillator also offers low acceleration sensitivity, typically 0.5ppb/g, which is an essential attribute in aerospace applications.

Specifications include supply voltage range from 1.8 to 3.3V, calibration tolerance of ±25ppm, output load (CMOS) of 15pF and ageing of ±3ppm in first year. Frequency stability is ±10 to ±50ppm over commercial temperature range (0 to +70 degree C), ±20 to ±50ppm over industrial temperature range from -40 to +85 degree C, and ±35 to ±50ppm over military temperature range from -55 to +125 degree C. Shock options encompass 30,000, 50,000, 75,000 and 100,000g (0.3ms, ½ sine) while vibration survival is 20g, 10 to 2000Hz, swept sine.

The CXOLHG oscillators are hermetically sealed in four-pad housings and are not sensitive to moisture. Maximum process temperature is 260 degree C for 20 seconds. There are two enable/disable options available – E which stops oscillation when the output is put into the high Z state and N which does not have enable/disable pad connected internally.

The Statek CXOLHG oscillators are available either in tray packs (up to 250 pieces) or 12mm tape and 178 or 330mm reels (EIA418) for more than 250 pieces.
