Evaluation boards from Richardson RFPD support wireless power transfer
Two evaluation boards from GaN Systems, designed for the wireless charging market for high-power consumer, industrial, and transport applications, are available from distributor, Richardson RFPD.
The 100 and 300W power amplifier evaluation boards for wireless power transfer are available from Richardson RFPD, with full design support capabilities.
The new power amplifiers are designed for the wireless charging market and feature gallium nitride (GaN) technology that enables smaller, lighter, lower-cost, and more efficient power systems, says Richardson RFPD.
The 100W power amplifier (GSWP100W-EVBPA) is suitable for applications in the consumer market, for example, laptop computers, recreational drones, domestic assistant robots, power tools, and fast-charging of multiple smart phones.
The 300W power amplifier (GSWP300W-EVBPA) is targeted at the industrial and transportation markets for applications, including delivery drones, warehouse robots, medical units, factory automation, contractor power tools, e-bikes and scooters.
Both power amplifiers offer current or voltage control, built-in protection circuitry, EMI filtering, and configurable output power. The amplifiers combine GaN Systems’ power transistors with high-frequency GaN E-HEMT drivers from pSemi.
Additionally, the PA evaluation boards include 6.78MHz frequency operation and above 90 per cent peak efficiency. The boards are configurable via voltage mode, current mode or single-ended.
Each is accompanied by a user’s guide that includes the evaluation board schematic, circuit description, a quick start guide, and measurement results.
