Evaluation kit duo demonstrated haptic feedback of piezo actuators

Two evaluation kits demonstrate the possibilities of haptic feedback that can be realised in various design project, using PowerHap piezo actuators.

The BOS1901-Kit development kit (Z63000Z2910Z1Z44) is designed for and includes three 60V actuators. The board is based on the CapDrive driver architecture from Boréas Technologies. The company has developed low-power haptic technologies and has signed a co-operative agreement with TDK Electronics.

The second evaluation kit is suitable for the 60 and 120V PowerHap types. It is available in two versions: a driver for one actuator (Z63000Z2910Z1Z1), and driver for up to five actuators (Z63000Z2910Z1Z7).

Both kits contain three types of PowerHap actuators, a USB interface and offer extensive setting options with regard to voltage amplitude, frequency, pulse repetition rate, signal shape and sensor functionality, adds TDK.

TDK was established in 1935 to commercialise ferrite, a key material in electronic and magnetic products. Today, its portfolio features passive components such as ceramic, aluminium electrolytic and film capacitors, as well as magnetics, high-frequency, and piezo and protection devices. Sensors and sensor systems include temperature and pressure, magnetic, and MEMS sensors. TDK also provides power supplies and energy devices and magnetic heads. Products are marketed under the product brands TDK, EPCOS, InvenSense, Micronas, Tronics and TDK-Lambda.

TDK focuses on demanding markets in the areas of information and communication technology and automotive, industrial and consumer electronics. The company has a network of design and manufacturing locations and sales offices in Asia, Europe, and in North and South America.
