Fanless desktop adapter has low no-load for medical use

Targeting healthcare applications, the TMP250 power adapter series from TrumPower has a minimum efficiency of 89 per cent.

The 250W power adapter meets the latest global energy efficiency standards for external supplies, says the company. It complies with DoE Level VI and CoC EPS V5 Tier 2 while offering a very low no-load power consumption of 0.15W (max).

The adapter measures 8.03 x 3.45 x 1.63 –inch (204 x  87 x  40mm). Class I units are equipped with an IEC 320/C14 AC inlet and the class II units have an IEC 320/C18 AC inlet. The adapters are available in a range of 12 standard single output voltages between 12 to 54V DC. The adapters operate 80 to 264V AC input range and operating temperatures between -20 to +60 degrees C ambient, while derating linearly from 100 per cent load at +40 degrees C to 50 per cent load at +60 degrees C. The adapters offer 100,000 hours minimum mean time between failure (MTBF) at 25 degrees C ambient, calculated per MIL-HDBK-217F.

They have a withstand voltage of 4,000V AC from I/O (2 x MOPP or means of patient protection) making them suitable in patient care environments. They also have over-voltage, over-current, and short circuit protection.

The TMP250 series is approved by UL/cUL and TUV to the latest medical standards, including IEC/EN/UL 60601-1 Edition 3.1, ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1:2012, and CSA C22.2 No. 60601-1:2014. The power adapters comply with IEC/EN 60601-1-2 4th edition medical EMC and immunity standards, including EN 55011, VCCI  and FCC class B (conducted and radiated emissions), EN 61000-3-2, EN 61000-3-3, EN 61000-4-2 (ESD at ±15 KV air and ±8 KV contact), EN 61000-4-3, EN 61000-4-4, EN 61000-4-5, EN 61000-4-6, EN 61000-4-8, EN 61000-4-11.

TrumPower has been delivering medical and industrial grade AC/DC switching power supplies and DC/DC converters for more than 25 years. The company’s medical grade power supplies range from 4.0 to 1,200W and its line of ITE grade AC/DC power supplies range from 3.0 to 1,400W in wall mount, desktop, open frame, and ATX PC form factors.

TrumPower can accommodate OEM’ to meet low volume standard power supplies or high volume custom products needs.
