Farnell adds general purpose LCR meter from Rohde & Schwarz
Believed to be the first LCR meter to have a measuring frequency range up to 10MHz for AC components, the LCX series from Rohde & Schwarz is now available from Farnell.
Engineers selecting capacitors, inductors, resistors and analogue filters to match a device application can use the LCX to read impedance values with what the manufacturer claims is market-leading accuracy.
According to Farnell, the LCX family of general purpose testers can effectively take all industry standard impedance measurements as well as specialised measurements for selected component types. The LCX series offers the high accuracy required in research and development and the high speed needed for production test and quality assurance, added the company.
The LCX100 LCR meter covers the 4Hz to 300kHz frequency range, while the LCX200 has an upper frequency limit of 500kHz and can be extended to 1.0 or 10MHz using available software.
Available software and hardware required for production environments includes remote control and result logging, rack mounting and a full range of test fixtures for handling components.
The meter has a large capacitive touch screen and virtual keyboard to support tap-and-test measurements. Frequently used functions are directly accessible via the front panel keys.
The LCX family of LCR impedance meters is suitable for testing most devices operating at conventional 50 or 60Hz domestic power frequencies through to 400Hz for aircrafts. The LCX series can also measure low frequency seismic sensors and high-power communication circuits operating at several MHz.
