Farnell offers Nvidia’s Jetson Orin range of modules

Accelerated computing capabilities at different performance levels and process for a variety of autonomous applications are provided by Nvidia’s Jetson Orin modules which are now available from Farnell.

Farnell said the modules provide customers with high-performance AI inference capabilities that reduce new product development times. The modules offer users up to 275 trillion operations per second (TOPS) for multiple concurrent AI inference pipelines. It also has high speed interface support for multiple sensors.

Seven modules are available based on the same architecture, from the entry-level Jetson Orin Nano to the highest performance Jetson AGX Orin.

Farnell said it is excited to offer both the modules and the developer kits. The offering consists of the Jetson Orin Nano series, with modules delivering up to 40 TOPS of AI performance in the smallest Jetson form-factor. Power options are between 7.0 and 15W. This gives up to 80 times the performance of the earlier Jetson Nano. Jetson Orin Nano is available in 8Gbyte and 4Gbyte versions.

There is also the Jetson Orin NX series, described as the most advanced AI computer for smaller, lower-power autonomous machines, delivering up to 100 TOPS of AI performance in the smallest Jetson form-factor. Power can be  configured between 10W and 25W. It is suitable for small form factor, low power products such as drones and handheld devices.

The Jetson AGX Orin series modules are claimed to be the most powerful AI computer for energy-efficient autonomous machines. They deliver up to 275 TOPS of AI performance with power configurable between 15W and 60W. These system-on-modules support multiple concurrent AI application pipelines with an Nvidia Ampere architecture GPU, deep learning and vision accelerators, high speed I/O and fast memory bandwidth. The modules can be used to solve problems such as natural language understanding, 3D perception and multi-sensor fusion.

There are two Jetson Orin developer kits. The compact Jetson AGX Orin Developer kit can emulate any of the Jetson Orin modules to enable development of AI-powered products.
The second is the Jetson Orin Nano developer kit which is smaller and includes a reference carrier board compatible with all Orin NX and Orin Nano modules. Farnell said it sets a new standard for creating entry level AI-powered robots, smart drones, and intelligent cameras.c
