Farnell stocks Nvidia Jetson modules for AI / edge computing

Nvidia’s Jetson computer modules are now in stock at Farnell. The range of Jetson small form factor, high-performance computer modules available from the distributor includes the Jetson Nano, Jetson AGX and Jetson Xavier NX.

Each module is equipped with Nvidia’s JetPack software development kit (SDK) for software acceleration, supported by an ecosystem of sensors, SDKs, services and products to further speed development. The JetPack SDK provides a Linux environment, Cuda-X libraries, APIs, and tools for AI edge development and also supports higher-level SDKs like DeepStream and Nvidia Isaac.

Each Jetson computer is a complete system on module (SoM) and includes a GPU, CPU, memory, power management and relevant interfaces. The modules are used by developers for AI edge devices for use in manufacturing, retail and agriculture to healthcare, waste management and smart cities, at a “significantly reduced development cost,” said Farnell.

The Nvidia Jetson platform enables autonomous machines to operate at the edge for robotics, machine vision, the IoT and intelligent video analytics (IVA) and use AI to address some of the world’s most pressing issues.

The Jetson modules and their associated development kits share a unified software architecture that makes it easier for developers to expand their product lines and maximise investment. The platform also supports cloud-native technologies like containerisation and orchestration, which enables quick and efficient development, deployment and updating of AI edge products, said Farnell. This applies even for the billions of devices in the field that require frequent updates.

The Nvidia Jetson modules are now available from stock at Farnell in EMEA, Newark in North America and element14 in APAC.
