Female headers are designed for LED applications
To meet the needs of LED technology, Fischer Elektronik has introduced a female header with a small number of contacts. The plastic used for the insulating body is almost white. Black insulating bodies absorb a certain light-volume, explains Fishcher, which leads to shadow effects.
This female header is designed with a 2.54mm pitch and in through hole and surface mount designs. The natural colour white LCP-plastic can be used in a soldering process.
The single-row female headers have one to 36 contacts for the through hole version and one to 20 contacts for the surface mount option. The surface mount designs are also available in a machine-compatible assembly packaging.
