Five COTS high current power inductors are for mil/aero projects

At APEC 2023, Inrcore has added five high current power inductor to its COTS+ product line. The compact, low profile HCPI040, HCPI050, HPCI060, HPCI100, and HCPI120 inductors were specifically designed to maximise inductance while minimising space and resistance, said the company.

The high current inductors feature magnetically shielded moulded construction, a composite core and tin lead / RoHS terminations. They have low DCR and are capable of high current carrying capacity and are able to maintain “a superior ability” to handle transients.

The Vanguard line of high current inductors is designed to serve the military and avionics markets and are typically used in DC/DC converters commonly found in aircraft, ground vehicles, missiles, radios and radar systems.

Each inductor features a standard tolerance of 20 per cent, a temperature rise at rated current of less and or equal to 40 degrees C and an operating temperature range of -55° to 125 degrees C.

The HCPI020 series has an inductance range of 0.15 to 10 microH and DCR of 0.7 to 18.5 mOhm and current rating from 9.5 to 53A.

The HCPI040 series has an inductance range of 0.047 to 10 microH and DCR of 3.25 to 440 mOhm and rated at 1.2 to 13A.

The HCPI050 series has an inductance range of 0.1 to 15 microH and DCR of 3.16 to 265 mOhm at 1.5 to 15.5A.

The HCPI060 series has an inductance range of 15 to 0.1 microH and 1.5 to 290 mOhm DCR at 1.8 to 32.5A.

The HCPI100 has an inductance range of 0.19 to 15 microH and 0.42 to 45 mOhm DCR at 6.0 to 40A.

Other electrical configurations and performance characteristics are available in various sizes and package types, confirmed inrcore.

The company said it will expand the ratings and sizes in “the very near future”.

For more than 70 years, Inrcore has designed and manufactured magnetic components that transmit high-speed, mission-critical signals and power in the harshest operating conditions. Designed to the tightest specifications and to military standards, the components have operated on the frontlines of defence to the frontiers of space exploration. The Inrcore family includes Vanguard Electronics, Gowanda Electronics, Dyco Electronics, HiSonic, TTE Filters, RCD Components, and Bicron Electronics. Inrcore is ITAR registered and certified to AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
