Floating connector system is a smooth operator, says Yamaichi Electronics

Designed for smooth operation in high speed applications, the HF301 floating board-to-board connector connects two PCBs. The floating mechanism is intended for use in difficult environments, as it functions smoothly, even during shock and vibration, says the company.

The HF301’s contact construction combines the floating function in the X, Y and Z directions for mechanical stability under all vibration and shock conditions. It has been developed and tested based on automotive specifications, but is suitable for other applications with similarly demanding requirements, such as can be found in industrial environments.

The electromechanical system is suitable for high speed operation and is capable of a maximum data transfer rate of 8Gbits per second. It is also equipped with additional power pins.

The board-to-board connector system consists of a plug and a socket with 102 signal contacts each and four power contacts for up to 5A. The connectors are manufactured to IATF16949.

Yamaichi Electronics produces test and burn-in sockets, connectors and connection systems. The company manufactures components for demanding applications in various markets and applications, for example, semiconductor, industrial automation, automotive, data networking, measurement and testing, medical, mobile computing and embedded computing.
