FRAM is optimised for automotive conditions
Fast access and operation in temperatures up to 125 degrees C, are offered with the MB85RS64VY DRAM from Fujitsu.
The FRAM is optimised for usage in the automotive sector follows the release of two models with 256kbit and 128kbit by Fujitsu Electronics Europe (FEEU) in 2017.
The MB85RS64VY features a temperature range up to 125 degrees C and incorporates a memory of 64kbit as well as a SPI with a maximum operating frequency of 33MHz. The FRAM is AEC-Q100-qualified for use in the automotive market as well as industrial automation applications, where robust and fast non-volatile memory products are required to operate in hot environments.
The operating voltage of MB85RS64VY ranges from 2.7 to 5.5V. It is offered in two package versions, the SOP-8 (for the automotive and industrial market) and the SON-8 package (for the industrial market). The latter measures just 2.0 x 3.0mm, says FEEU.
The FRAM is fast, durable and non-volatile, continues the company. It can store logging data instantly and directly into the memory, without any additional data transfer from RAM to ROM. As a result, the risk of the data getting lost can be considerably reduced and the system architecture can be simplified.
