Gresham Power Electronics offers flame retardant Yuasa NPL industrial batteries
Authorised Yuasa battery distributor, Gresham Power Electronics, has added two series of high reliability industrial batteries from Yuasa.
The Yuasa NPL industrial battery range maintains system power with the most reliable industrial batteries on the market, claims Gresham. The NPL series is the culmination of over seven decades of battery manufacturing experience, adds the distributor, making the NPL series suitable as the power source for electronic equipment in industrial applications.
The NPL range is an enhanced version of the established NP design offering a longer service life, from 10 to 12 years, and complies with IEC 60896-21+22. All other mechanical and electrical attributes and operational characteristics of NPL range are the same as the original NP series offering users as simple upgrade pathway.
Flame retardant versions, the NPL-FR, of the Yuasa NPL batteries are available. The standard case material is flame retardant to (UL94) HBØ while the flame retardant version meets UL94:VØ (oxygen index 30) and complies with BS6290 Part 4 (1997).
Key features of the NPL and original NP rechargeable lead acid battery series include sealed leak proof construction and multi-purpose performance in either float or cyclic applications. Other benefits include recovery from deep discharge, electrolyte suspension system and gas recombination, superior energy density and lead calcium grids for extended life. Yuasa VRLA (valve-regulated lead-acid), batteries can be used in any orientation (excluding continuous use inverted).
Karen Jay, Operations manager at Gresham Power Electronics, commented: “We have been using Yuasa batteries in our own defence products for many years and are very impressed with their reliability and operational life. We now always fit flame retardant NPL-FR batteries to all of our own UPS for even greater system security.”
Yuasa NP and NPL batteries are manufactured in the Yuasa UK factory to ISO 9001:2015 and application specific designs are available on request. Yuasa is also committed to fulfil its obligations as a producer of industrial batteries as described in the Directive 2006/66/EC and the Waste Batteries and Accumulator Regulations 2009 and meets the requirements of ISO 14001 for environmental management.
