High speed versions of Y-Circ P connectors cater for automotive Ethernet

Among the high speed connectors available from Yamaichi Electronics, the Y-Circ P metallic push-pull circular connectors are designed for single pair Ethernet (SPE) and automotive Ethernet applications.

In addition to the standardised SPE versions, Yamaichi Electronics offers customer-specific connectors based on these push-pull connectors with a high number of mating cycles.

The company’s in-house laboratory is used to develop, simulate and test pin layouts for high speed applications. The S1 pin layout enables the transmission of single pair Ethernet up to 10Gbit per second according to IEC 802.3ch and of automotive Ethernet signals according to the Open Alliance Standard TC9.

According to Yamaichi Electronics, the combination of the reliable push-pull mechanism in small size 09 connectors and the patent-pending insulator and contact design offers highest data rates for special test and measurement applications with at least 5,000 mating cycles.

The new S1 pole pattern is available in straight and angled device sockets. Yamaichi Electronics can also assemble the matching connector directly with a cable suitable for SPE on request.

SPE is a communications platform of electrical or electronical components and machinery for efficient data transmission from sensor to the cloud. It uses two instead of the more typical four or eight wires to reduce costs, save space, weight and time during the assembly.

The standardised SPE vesions are also available from Yamaichi Electronics. They include both mating faces according to IEC 63171-2 and -6.

Yamaichi Electronics specialises in test and burn-in sockets, connectors and connection systems. The company manufactures components for demanding applications in various markets and applications: semiconductor, industrial automation, automotive, data networking, measurement and testing, medical, mobile computing and embedded computing.
