IEC connector has dual lock system
Schaffner has added the IL13P-S to its range of IEC power connectors. The IL13P-S is a C14 / C20 IEC dual locking power connector with two locking systems to prevent accidental disconnection in data centres, power distribution units, servers, industrial equipment, medical devices, audio / broadcast and other critical power systems.
The C14/C20 IEC dual locking connector is two locking mechanisms incorporated into one combined connector. This ensures compatibility with a wide range of standard non-locking C13 socket outlets including inlet filter types, for example, IL 13, IL 13 P and IL 19., said Schaffner. The IL13P-S will mate with any Schaffner IEC C14 / C20 inlet filter and is a simple retrofit for any IEC C14 / C20 inlet.
The load side connector is a IEC lock C13+ slimline model. The slim, compact connector has two locking mechanisms and includes a line side connector made from the IEC lock C14 connector.
It is rated up to 10A for the C13 plug, up to 15A for the C13P plug, and up to 20A for the C19 plug. Maximum pin temperature is +70 degrees C.
Schaffner offers various power line plugs for international use.
The connector is suitable for worldwide use, with cable safety certifications valid for Europe, USA, Canada and Australia.
Cable lengths available are 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0m. There is also a choice of black, white, red and blue cable colours.
The locking system has a tensile force of typically 200N and it is recommended to use it with flange mount filters.
