Ignion’s multi-band antenna booster extends Richardson RFPD portfolio

Distributor, Richardson RFPD has added Ignion’s One mXtend antenna booster to its line card. It also offers full design support capabilities for the multi-band antenna booster which supports all possible frequency coverage combinations of Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E, 5G and cellular IoT.

The One mXtend is a small Virtual Antenna supporting cellular and unlicensed IoT wireless devices. It is part of a new generation of antenna products based on Ignion’s Virtual Antenna technology which allows developers to replace conventional and custom antennae with antenna boosters, including miniature and off-the-shelf chip antenna components. The multi-band, multi-purpose chip antennae enable simpler, faster and less expensive designs to be used rather than custom solutions, says Richardson RFPD.

The miniature, high-efficiency One mXtend is specifically designed to provide multi-band performance in wireless devices with small space requirements, and it can be adapted, with a high level of flexibility, to fit the antenna designer’s needs.

The antenna booster operates at 800 to 10,600MHz and has an average efficiency of at least 70 per cent at 3,300 to 5,000MHz and 1,850 to 2,170MHz frequency bands, at least 55 per cent at 880 to 960MHz, a minimum of 65 per cent at 1,710 to 2,170MHz and at 824 to 894MHz frequency bands.

Peak gain ranges from 1.9 to 4.1dBi depending on the frequency range and voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) is less 3:1.

The antenna booster has an omni-directional radiation pattern. This allows satellite signals to be tracked regardless of the relative position, attitude and orientation of the tracking device.

Impedance is 50 Ohm and operating temperature range is -40 to +125 degrees C.

The One mXtend weighs approximately 0.02g and measures just 7.0 x 3.0 x 1.0mm.

Ignion’s Kick-Start Service includes a Virtual Antenna product selection to meet device and application specifications, recommended antenna location information to achieve maximum performance, additional antenna integration tips, and set-up analysis for matching network topology, reflection coefficient and estimated efficiency. The Kick-Start service is free of charge and includes 24-hour service. (Additional terms and conditions apply.)
