Impulse Embedded offers industrial networking Ethernet switches by Moxa
Industrial computing system specialist, Impulse Embedded now offers the EDS-4000 and G4000 series of industrial Ethernet switches. Systems integrators can use them to design futureproof industrial networks, applications such as power, transportation, factory automation, rail, smart cities and marine, advised Impulse Embedded.
There are 68 models in the EDS-4000 and EDS-G4000 series of industrial DIN-Rail-mounted switches. These offer from eight to 14 ports and support a comprehensive range of network speeds up to 2.5Gbit per second network bandwidth. Optional features include PoE and support for various communication media including Ethernet, SFP, multi-mode and single-mode fibre. There are also AC and DC input versions available with a wide operating temperature range of -40 to +75 degrees C.
The EDS-4000 and EDS-G4000 is claimed to have the world’s first ISA / IEC 62443-4-2-compliant networking range for cybersecurity. ISA / IEC 62433 compliance for network standards was developed by the ISA99 committee and has been adopted by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), offering a flexible framework to address security vulnerabilities in industrial automation and control systems (IACS).
The compact DIN-Rail switches have been created with a flexible removable design that allows the user to rotate the power inputs between two settings which are vertical and front-facing. The compact size allows for space-restricted installations and the modular power design allows for easy replacement of the power unit in the event of failure without having to remove the complete device.
MX-NOS is Moxa’s secure network operating system that features a selection of device management features. It uses an intuitive HTML5-based web user interface (UI) for consistent cross-device usability and harmonious integration with other Moxa software suites like MXview, allowing users to easily and effectively monitor and visualise their industrial network topology and devices.
