Industrial computer is waterproof
The ECX700-AL is an industrial computer which is waterproof and ruggedised for outdoor edge computing applications, said DFI.
The industrial computers is durable with an IP67/IP69K-rated, waterproof and dust-proof design to withstand harsh environments and any type of climate, said the company.
It is based on the Intel Atom processor E3900 series, with 4Gbyte DDR3 onboard, 64G eMMC and optional Wi-Fi, LTE and CanBus comms. It is also equipped with BIOS with security boot.
The computer has a stable performance, operating at a wide temperature of -40 to 70 degrees C. It is also equipped with a smart vent that drains water automatically, preventing typical problems, such as condensation within the system, or excessive heat.
An external SIM slot is convenient for users when changing SIM cards, and the design also includes a high gain antenna. Versatile I/O settings including a combo port that supports two CANs and two COMs as well as selective display ports (HDMI / VGA).
Typical outdoor IoT edge computing applications include data collection and transmission for traffic management, green energy facilities, meteorological stations, shore facilities, and high altitude or high latitude locations.
The ECX700-AL can also be used in factories and manufacturing facilities with high humidity and extreme temperatures, such as refrigeration equipment factories.
