Lane Electronics offers Lemo’s M series high power connectors
Lemo’s M series of high power connectors which is designed for use in harsh environments where mission critical operation is required
The high power version is based on the rugged M Series and is lightweight, compact and reliable for harsh environments, said the franchised distributor.
The ratchet coupling connectors have been developed to meet the growing need for high power distribution to electronic devices, electric vehicles and any systems with electrical motors, batteries or inverters where high torque may be required for short or longer periods. Typical applications will include automotive, defence, aerospace, robotics and motorsports.
In addition to robust, light and compact connector bodies, they have newly developed insulators and high efficiency, gold-plated copper high power crimp contacts. According to Lane Electronics this proprietary design provides high reliability, low contact resistance, limiting heat generation, low mating forces with high mating cycle durability (3000+ cycles). It also increases surge protection while a protective cap meets user safety requirements.
The Lemo M series high power connector can accommodate conductors from 10mm² to 50mm ² in a number of unipole and multipole configurations for single and three-phase systems.
The connectors are available in a range of sizes and configurations with maximum current rating from 140 to 430A. They have a wide operating temperature range of -55 to 200 degrees C.
The connectors are sealed to IP68 mated (unmated is available as an option) and they also provide 360 degree EMC shielding. They also have high shock and vibration resistance, as well as being oil and fuel resistant. An alternative brass housing provides salt fog resistance up to 1,000 hours.
The connectors are tested to MIL-STD-810F and there is a threaded option for MIL-DTL-38999M backshell.
