Latest GoPro is based on Socionext Milbeaut ISP technology

The adventurer’s camera, the GoPro’s latest incarnation is the GoPro HERO8. The waterproof, 4k digital camera has Hypersmooth Stabilisation, touchscreen and voice control. It is also equipped with Socionext’s Milbeaut image signal processor (ISP) technology.

The powerful, efficient ISP is responsible for “unparalleled image quality and next level image stabilisation capabilities while using lowest power,” says Socionext.

The Milbeaut ISP meets the growing demands for high definition and exceptional photo and video image quality in cameras in a social media age when an experience is not just for those who are there at the time but which can be shared via social media.

Socionext is offering Softei.com readers the chance to win a GoPro HERO8 camera and will be presenting a paper on ‘Realising Remote Display Systems for Safety Applications’, exploring how its Video Smart Display Controller technology fulfils the challenge in automotive display design to integrate intelligent systems, including safety features, with less components, at next year’s Embedded World in Nuremberg, Germany in February 2020.

At the same event, visitors to its stand (3A-129 in Hall 3A) will be able to see Socionext’s latest technologies for imaging applications.
