Latest TMBS rectifiers increase power density and efficiency
Surface-mount Trench MOS Barrier Schottky (TMBS) rectifiers from Vishay General Semiconductor have been extended with 16 new 2A and 3A devices in the in the eSMP series, low profile SMP (DO-220AA) package. They have a wide range of reverse voltages from 45V to 200V and, according to Vishay, their 3A rating is the industry’s highest for the SMP package to increase power density.
They have a forward voltage drop down to 0.36V for 2A and 0.37V for 3A devices and are claimed to reduce power loss and improve efficiency in high frequency inverters, DC/DC converters and freewheeling and polarity protection diodes for commercial and industrial applications. The TMBS rectifiers are also available in AEC-Q101 qualified versions for automotive applications.
The TMBS rectifiers have a maximum operating junction temperature up to +175 degrees C and an MSL moisture sensitivity level of 1, per J-STD-020, LF maximum peak of +260 degrees C. The devices are RoHS-compliant and halogen-free.
Samples and production quantities of the new TMBS rectifiers are available now, with lead times of eight weeks for larger orders.
Vishay Intertechnology claims to be one of the world’s largest manufacturers of discrete semiconductors (diodes, MOSFETs, and infrared optoelectronics) and passive electronic components (resistors, inductors, and capacitors). These components are used in virtually all types of electronic devices and equipment, in the industrial, computing, automotive, consumer, telecommunications, military, aerospace, power supplies and medical markets.
