Lemo signs Lane Motorsport as a specialist distributor
Lane Motorsport has been announced as a motorsport specialist distributor for Lemo’s M series which is approved by the FIA for use on engine control units (ECUs). Lane will also distribute the company’s popular F series connectors.
Distribution is a key strategic move for connector manufacturers as lead times and availability from stock become ever more important in this fast-moving industry sector, noted Lane.
Lemo designs and manufactures precision, high-performance connection products for the motorsport sector. Lane Motorsport will be holding stock of the most popular Lemo connectors and said that this stock will grow and be fine-tuned as customer demands and market trends are observed.
The Lemo M series will complement the existing Lane Electronics Eaton 8STA franchise with high density contacts up to 114 ways or 66-way mixed power contacts in the largest shell size 5. The M series is approved by the FIA for being used on ECUs “and more due to their high reliability” said Lane.
The F series is the push pull series from Lemo and is used, mostly in the small sizes, in motorsport where they are valued for the design’s weight saving and high density of the contact system.
Key features of the Lemo connectors now in stock at Lane Electronics include high reliability in harsh environments, high density pin count and – for the M series – a ratchet and tri-start connector mating system.
