Link Microtek adds L3 Narda-ATM coaxial and waveguide phase shifters
Coaxial and waveguide phase shifters manufactured by L3 Narda-ATM are now available in the UK by Link Microtek. The representative for the US company specialises in serving microwave design engineers in the UK.
The phase shifters cover microwave frequency bands up to 40GHz. They are available in coaxial and waveguide styles and can be specified with digital counting dial, direct reading dial and servo motor control options. Some models are specifically designed for use in Ka-band systems.
The phase shifters adjust the phases of elements within a phased array antenna system and are primarily intended for use in military or commercial radar applications. They can also be used for drive feed balancing on high power amplifiers, as well as general test and measurement applications, says Link Microtek.
The coaxial phase shifter line includes units with minimum adjustable phase shifts of 30, 40, 60, 90, 180 and 360 degrees/GHz. They have low insertion loss and maximum voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) ranging from 1.3:1 to 2.0:1. Power-handling capability is specified as 100W average and 3kW peak.
The phase shifters are housed in sturdy aluminium enclosures with a corrosion-resistant epoxy coating and use SMA, Type N or 2.92mm stainless-steel coaxial connectors. Standard models have a rotating control knob to adjust the phase shift; the position is fixed with a lock nut.
Low power and high power versions of the waveguide phase shifters are available, with both types offering minimum phase adjustment from 0 to 360 degrees, with low insertion loss and low VSWR. The low power models cover waveguide sizes from WR28 to WR137 and feature a maximum RF power rating of 100W (CW). The high-power models can handle maximum average powers ranging from 160 to 11,500W and peak powers from 18 to 2,500kW, depending on waveguide size.
