LinkSwitch-TN2 HV switcher ICs are automotive-certified
High voltage (HV) IC specialist, Power Integrations has announced an AEC-Q100-qualified version of its LinkSwitch-TN2 switcher IC for buck or non-isolated flyback applications.
The IC has an integrated 750V MOSFET and is designed for EV sub-systems connected to the HV bus, including HVAC, climate control, battery management, battery heater, DC/DC converter and on-board charger systems. The surface mount device requires no heatsink, needs few external components and occupies a very small PCB footprint, says Power Integrations.
The 7W (flyback) / 360mA (buck) LinkSwitch-TN2 has a wide input voltage range of 60 to 550V DC, efficiently supporting the 400V DC bus commonly seen in EV applications. The power supply IC provides regulation of better than ± five per cent across line voltage, load, temperature and component tolerances.
The ICs reduce system size by supplying auxiliary systems directly from the high-voltage bus to reduce the requirement for the conventional 12V distributed rail, which saves assembly and bill of materials cost, points out the company.
Samples of the LNK3206GQ automotive-qualified LinkSwitch-TN2 IC are available now.
Power Integrations specialises in high voltage power conversion. Its products are used in renewable energy as well as the efficient transmission and consumption of power in applications ranging from mW to MW.
