Mag Layers USA’s moulded power inductors available from Digi-Key Electronics
Moulded power inductor manufacturer, Mag Layers USA has signed a global agreement with distributor Digi-Key Electronics to supply its MMD inductors.
The partnership is part of Digi-Key’s global Marketplace initiative to broaden the product offering now available for customers. Mag Layers USA MMD series of moulded power inductors have a magnetic metal powder core and internal wire coil in a shielded construction. They are intended for use in DC/DC applications and power supplies. The inductors are produced using second generation, automotive- grade robotics. The shielded power inductors feature soft saturating core materials in consumer, industrial and automotive grades.
David Stein, vice president of global supplier management for Digi-Key, describes how the range fits into Digi-Key’s offering. “Mag Layers USA’s offerings for a variety of consumer, industrial and automotive grade clients further round out our power inductor offerings and feature many high levels of compliance that our customers are looking for, from no conflict minerals to Reach and RoHS compliance.” The MMD series are also halogen free, low resistance and offer high current ratings.
Typical applications include laptop, desktop and server power, as well as high current power supplies, battery powered devices, and power management IC (PMIC) applications.
Mag Layers USA offers MMD moulded power inductors range in size from 4.0 x 4.0mm to 17 x 17mm.
