Magnachip develops MOSFET for EV pumps in PDFN56 dual packaging

Optimised for electric water pumps and electric oil pumps in electric vehicles (EVs) in a space saving package, the AMDUA040N070RH series of 40V MXT MOSFETs are in a PDFN56 dual package and available from Magnachip Semiconductor.

The MOSFETs are characterised by low conduction losses in EVs. They are in a power dual no-lead (PDFN) 56 package to reduce the PCB size by 50 per cent, as compared to using two 40V single-packaged MOSFETs. The compact size provides great flexibility in system design, said Magnachip for use in power seat modules of EVs as well as the electric pumps.

The low RDS(on) enabled by the PDFN56 package reduces conduction losses, which means applications can be controlled efficiently. In addition, the AMDUA040N070RH MOSFET design is AEC-Q101-qualified for performance and stability, because of the enhanced design of its core cells and terminations for automotive applications.

Magnachip Semiconductor is a designer and manufacturer of analogue and mixed-signal semiconductor devices for communications, IoT, consumer, computing, industrial and automotive applications. The company provides a broad range of standard products to customers worldwide and has approximately 1,100 registered patents and pending applications. It also says it has extensive engineering, design and manufacturing process expertise.
