Mouser adds new manufacturer partner, Menlo Micro

A new manufacturing partner for distributor, Mouser, is Menlo Micro. The company develops MEMS (Microelectromechanical Systems) switches, which it calls Ideal Switches.

The Ideal Switches are similar to mechanical transistors and can be used for communication equipment, battery management, electric vehicles and medical instrumentation.

They are characterised by low loss and low resistance which makes them particularly suitable for handling the high power required for RF tuning of 5G networks. The Ideal Switches’ ability to remotely control circuit breakers without drawing a lot of power makes them also suitable for home automation and industrial IoT (IIoT) applications.

Mouser offers the MM5130 DC to 26GHz high power SP4T (single-pole four-throw) switch built on Ideal Switch technology which enables reliable switches capable of 25W forward power. The MM5130 provides low insertion loss and “superior linearity”  as an SP4T from DC to 18GHz, and greater than three billion switching cycles.

The MM5130 can also be configured in Super-Port mode, which extends the frequency operation to 26GHz. The MM5130 can replace large RF electromechanical relays and RF / microwave solid-state switches in applications where linearity and insertion loss are critical parameters. The four switch channels are individually controllable by applying a gate voltage to the corresponding RF GATE pin.

The Menlo Micro MM5130 DC to 26GHz SP4T switch is available in a compact 2.5 x 2.5mm WLCSP for space-constrained applications.

The company also offers the Micro MM5600 DC to 20GHz DPDT (double pole, double throw) differential switch, which can operate up to 40Gbits per second for digital signaling applications or high performance RF applications up to 20GHz. The MM5600 has low insertion loss, fast switching speed, internal ESD diodes and can operate with greater than three billion switching cycles. It has an integrated driver controlled by an SPI (serial to parallel interface) that drives the high voltage gate lines of the switches. The device also offers two separate single-ended ports and a 90 per cent reduction in size when compared with comparable EM relay solutions, said Mouser. An external +5V DC logic supply and high voltage +89V DC bias source is required for the operation of the internal switch driver. It is available in an 8.0 x 8.0mm LGA package and is RoHS-compliant.

The Menlo Micro MM5140 DC to 6.0GHz high power SP4T RF switch uses an integrated charge pump / driver circuit. It enables RF operation at high power levels with low losses and maintains a high level of input IP3 performance. This device is designed to perform over a wide temperature range with an operating lifetime of greater than three billion switching cycles. It can replace large RF electromechanical relays, as well as RF / microwave solid-state switches in applications where high reliability is a critical parameter. The integrated charge pump / driver circuit offers both flexible SPI and GPIO interface controls for host device interfacing. The RF switch is available in a 5.2 x 4.2mm LGA package and is RoHS-compliant.

Finally, the MM5120 DC to 18GHz high power SP4T RF switch can replace large RF electromechanical relays, as well as RF / microwave solid-state switches in applications where linearity and insertion loss are critical parameters, advised Mouser. The MM5120 features an integrated driver circuit with SPI and GPIO interface control options and an integrated charge pump to drive the gate. It is available in a 5.2 x 4.2mm LGA package and is RoHS-compliant.
