Mouser Electronics signs Asahi Kasei Microdevices
Mouser Electronics has signed a global distribution agreement with Asahi Kasei Microdevices (AKM) to offer its sensors and analogue / digital mixed-signal ICs portfolio.
Asahi Kasei Microdevices combines the compound semiconductor technology mainly used for magnetic sensors with the ASIC / analogue circuit technology based on silicon semiconductors.
The company’s sensors and audio chips are used by customers in the mobile, automotive, industrial, and consumer markets.
The portfolio available from Mouser includes the CZx coreless current sensor ICs. They have creepage and clearance distances of 8mm or more and support a wide current range and generate little heat, said Asahi Kasei Microdevices. The CZ3Ax current sensor ICs have two over-current detection circuits; each over-current detection threshold can be adjusted externally. The CZ37x current sensor ICs feature a built-in disturbance magnetic field suppression function that improves system efficiency and precise control in various applications.
Mouser also offers Asahi Kasei Microdevices’ AK5x audio ADCs and AK4x audio DACs. The converters implement Velvet Sound technology, which maximises dynamics and ensures unaltered audio data, said Mouser to prioritise the capture and reproduction of the source material. The ADCs and DACs were designed specifically for high resolution digital audio and for use in AV receivers, set-top boxes and car-entertainment systems.
The Asahi Kasei Microdevices portfolio also includes infrared LED elements and infrared sensors for non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) type gas sensors. These co-dependent devices use epitaxial growth technology for semiconductor thin films for optimum gas absorption wavelength band and high speed and high output emission control. The compact infrared LEDs and sensors contribute to reducing the size of gas sensor modules for automotive CO2-sensing applications, HVAC, and flame detection.
