Mouser Electronics stocks STMicroelectronics’ Nucleo-64 boards

The STM32WL wireless microcontroller is claimed to be the first to integrate a LoRa transceiver on its silicon die, meeting the requirements of a wide range of low power wide area network (LPWAN) wireless applications for industrial and consumer IoT applications. It is the core of the STM32WL Nucleo-64 boards, also by STMicroelectronics, which are now available from Mouser Electronics.

The NUCLEO-WL55JC1 supports the high-frequency band from 865 to 928MHz used in the Americas and Europe, and the NUCLEO-WL55JC2 supports the low-frequency band from 433 to 510 MHz used in Asia.

The NUCLEO-WL55JC1 and NUCLEO-WL55JC2 boards allow design engineers to try out new sub-GHz wireless communications concepts and build prototypes with the STM32WL series wireless microcontroller. They are able to choose various combinations of performance, power consumption and features. The boards include support for both Arduino Uno headers and ST morpho headers for expanding the functionality of the STM32WL Nucleo open development platform with specialised shields.

The STM32WL Nucleo-64 boards also integrate the STLINK-V3E debugger and programmer, removing the need for a separate probe.

The onboard STM32WL55JC microcontroller incorporates two 32-bit Arm Cortex-M4/M0+ cores with 256kbytes of flash memory and 64kbytes of SRAM. The device’s specially engineered radio offers two power outputs: one up to 15dBm, one up to 22dBm. There is also support for LoRa, (G)FSK, (G)MSK, and BPSK modulations.

The STM32WL Nucleo-64 boards come with the STM32WL comprehensive software HAL library and various packaged software examples available with the STM32CubeWL microcontroller package.
