Mouser offers Dialog’s DA14682 and DA14683 SoCs for Bluetooth 5

SmartBond DA14682 and DA14683 Bluetooth 5 system on chips (SoCs) from Dialog Semiconductor are now available from Mouser Electronics.

Part of the integrated SmartBond family, the SoCs deliver low power consumption and enhanced security features with industry-leading performance for power-efficient Bluetooth Low Energy projects, claims Mouser.

The Dialog SmartBond DA14582 and DA14583 Bluetooth 5 SoCs offer designers all the benefits of the DA14586 SoC, but with even greater flexibility to create more advanced applications from the smallest footprints and power budgets, according to Mouser.

In addition to Bluetooth 5 support, the two devices offer extensive memory capacity and differ only in memory configuration. The DA14683 supports unlimited external flash for maximum design flexibility, while the DA14682 includes 8Mbits of onboard flash, making it suitable for applications with tight space constraints. The SoCs also feature a dedicated hardware crypto engine that delivers fast and low-power processing of cryptographic algorithms. On-chip key storage and manipulation delivers an ideal balance between security and affordability.

Dialog’s DA14682 and DA14683 SoCs can be used to add Bluetooth Low Energy mesh networking to asset trackers, cloud-connected products, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, wearables, human-machine interface (HMI) devices, and smart home nodes. The devices are supported by DA14683 development kits. Dialog’s SmartSnippets software is aimed at helping engineers optimise software for power consumption.
