Mouser offers Qorvo’s DWM3000 RF module for automation and asset tracking

Integrating a DW3110 ultra wideband (UWB) transceiver IC,  power management, ceramic UWB chip antenna and crystal, the DWM3000 RF module from Qorvo can be incorporated into asset tracking, logistics, navigation and factory automation equipment. It is available from Mouser Electronics.

The RF module is IEEE 802.15.4a and IEEE 802.15.4z BPRF mode-compliant and allows location of objects to a precision of 100mm. The device supports data rates of 850kbits per second and 6.8Mbits per second and provides worldwide UWB support with UWB channel 5 (6.5GHz) and channel 9 (8GHz) operation. The module also supports time-of-flight (ToF) and time-difference-of-arrival (TDoA) location schemes for navigation and tracking applications. The compact module is housed in a 24-pin, 23 x 13 x 2.9mm package and is pin- and size-compatible with Qorvo’s DWM1000 module for UWB channel 5 operation.

The DWM3000 module can be integrated with a variety of microcontrollers, said Mouser and design and development can be supported with Qorvo’s hardware and software. The DWM3000 RF module is optimised for low power consumption and long battery life, added Mouser, making it suitable for use in equipment used for healthcare, agriculture, safety and security applications.

Mouser claims to offer the world’s widest selection of the newest semiconductors and electronic components — in stock and ready to ship.

The distributor’s website hosts a library of technical resources, including a Technical Resource Center, product data sheets, supplier-specific reference designs, application notes, technical design information and engineering tools.
