Mouser ships TE Connectivity’s AmbiMate sensor dev kits

Distributor Mouser Electronics is stocking the AmbiMate sensor module MS4 development kits from TE Connectivity (TE). The kits can be used by engineering and development teams to build prototypes and evaluation boards for systems incorporating TE’s AmbiMate MS4 series sensor modules.

They allow developers to connect up to seven smart sensors to either a Raspberry Pi or Arduino board and start collecting data within 30 minutes, using downloadable code available from TE. All of the kits include sensors for passive infrared (PIR) motion, light, temperature, and humidity, while optional additions include an integrated microphone and sensors for equivalent CO2 (eCO2) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

The AmbiMate MS4 series sensor modules and development kits enable easy integration in host products in building automation, lighting, and smart home applications which use environmental data to inform product decisions. For example, one or more modules can be used to capture VOC and eCO2 concentrations and evaluate air quality.

TE’s AmbiMate sensor modules include an integrated microphone to augment motion detection by listening for sound events. A network of modules can detect occupancy, humidity, temperature, and light levels, allowing building controllers to adjust indoor lighting, HVAC equipment, energy management, and other zonal environmental controls to support sustainability efforts.

Mouser strives to empower innovation among design engineers and buyers and claims to stock the world’s widest selection of the latest semiconductors and electronic components for the newest design projects. Mouser Electronics’ website is continually updated and offers advanced search methods to help customers quickly locate inventory. Mouser.com also houses data sheets, supplier-specific reference designs, application notes, technical design information, and engineering tools.

For more than 75 years, TE Connectivity has manufactured connectors and sensors that are proven in the harshest environments and have enabled advances in transportation, industrial applications, medical technology, energy, data communications, and the home.
