Mouser starts stocking TI ultra-low-dropout regulators

Mouser Electronics is now stocking the TPS7A10 ultra-low-dropout regulator from Texas Instruments.

The TPS7A10 low-dropout (LDO) regulator family features an input range of 0.75V to 3.3V and fixed-output voltage options from 0.6V to 3.0V. Each regulator offers high accuracy of 1.5 per cent over load, line and temperature.

Measuring in terms of board space 0.74mm x 1.09mm, the TPS7A10 is suited to space-constrained internet of things (IoT) devices, fitness trackers, smart watches, medical devices, wireless headphones, smartphones and tablets.

The new TPS7A10 regulators are designed to support the low core voltages of analogue sensors and microcontrollers. The device’s main power path can connect to a power supply down to 70mV above the output voltage.

An additional Vbias rail enables support for very low input voltages. Both rails consume low quiescent currents of 1.6-microA and 6-microA, respectively. As a result the part provides an efficient solution for low-power performance, says Mouser. The TPS7A10 LDO regulatores also offer a high power supply rejection ratio of 60dB at 1kHz.

Low quiescent current and ultra-low dropout features can help to increase the efficiency of the solution in power-sensitive applications. For example, the main input can connect to the output of a high-efficiency DC/DC step-down regulator while the Vbias is connected to a rechargeable battery.

The TPS7A10 is equipped with an active pull-down circuit to quickly discharge the output when disabled and to provide a known start-up state.

To enable rapid design-in and performance assessment, the TPS7A10 regulator is supported by the TPS7A10EVM-004 evaluation module. The evaluation module provides a reference design for engineering applications that call for current of up to 300mA.

To support the TI TPS7A10 as well as other products, Mouser’s website is continually updated and offers advanced search methods to help customers quickly locate inventory. Mouser.com also houses data sheets, supplier-specific reference designs, application notes, technical design information and engineering tools.
