Mouser stocks PMIC for PoE from Maxim Integrated

Distributor, Mouser Electronics has announced it is not stocking the MAX5995B power management IC (PMIC) from Maxim Integrated. The small PMIC provides a complete interface for powered device (PD) to comply with the IEEE 802.3af/at/bt standard in a power over Ethernet (PoE) system.

The MAX5995B provides the PD with a detection signature, classification signature, and an integrated isolation power switch with start-up inrush current control. The IC supports a multi-event classification method as specified in the IEEE 802.3bt standard, and provides a signal to indicate from Type 1 to Type 4 Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE). The PMIC also provides a power-good (PG) signal, two-step current limit and foldback control, and over-temperature protection.

There is also an intelligent maintain power signature (MPS) function, a low-power sleep mode, an input under-voltage lockout with wide hysteresis, and long de-glitch time to compensate for twisted pair cable resistive drop and to assure glitch-free transition during power-on/-off conditions.

The MAX5995B PMIC is available in a 16-pin, 5.0 x 5.0mm TQFN power package with an operating temperature range of -40 to +85 degrees C. Suitable applications are VOIP phones, IP security cameras, wireless access points, small cell and picocell basestations, lighting, and building automation.

Maxim Integrated produces analogue devices for a variety of applications from mobile to industrial.

Mouser claims to stock the world’s widest selection of the latest semiconductors and electronic components for the newest design projects. The distributor’s website is continually updated and offers advanced search methods to help customers quickly locate inventory. Mouser.com also houses data sheets, supplier-specific reference designs, application notes, technical design information, and engineering tools.
