Mouser stocks TDK’s compact FS1406 µPOL DC/DC modules

Now available from Mouser Electronics, the FS1406 µPOL DC/DC power modules from TDK offer 15W of output power in a miniature 3.3 x 3.3 x 1.5mm package.

The compact point of load (PoL) modules support a range of high performance applications, including machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), big data, 5G cells, and IoT applications.

The TDK FS1406 µPOL DC-DC power modules integrate the matching MOSFET, inductor and driver in a single semiconductor embedded in substrate (SESUB) package. This reduces the device’s form factor by up to 50 per cent when compared with modules using side-by-side IC and inductor, explains TDK. The modules feature an on-chip pulse width modulation (PWM) controller, integrated MOSFETs, inductors and capacitors. The accurate regulator has a high power density of 1W per mm³.

The modules also reduce system cost and design time in industrial applications that require high power density, including network communications, servers, and storage. The modules also support imaging, radars, security, and other machines for the medical industry.

TDK was established in 1935 to commercialise ferrite, a key material in electronic and magnetic products. Its comprehensive portfolio features passive components such as ceramic, aluminium electrolytic and film capacitors, as well as magnetics, high-frequency, and piezo and protection devices, sensors and sensor systems such as temperature and pressure, magnetic, and MEMS sensors. In addition, TDK provides power supplies and energy devices and magnetic heads. Products are marketed under the product brands TDK, EPCOS, InvenSense, Micronas, Tronics and TDK-Lambda.

TDK focuses on demanding markets in automotive, industrial and consumer electronics, and information and communication technology. It has a network of design and manufacturing locations and sales offices in Asia, Europe, and in North and South America.
