Nano-ITX embedded board is based on Intel 8th Gen Core processors

Based on the Intel 8th Generation Core i7/ i5/ i3 processors (formerly Whiskey Lake-U), the Nano-6051 is a Nano-ITX form factor embedded board from Portwell. In addition to the Intel 8th Gen Core i7/ i5/ i3 processors, with up to four cores/ eight threads with a low 15W thermal design power (TDP). The processors integrate Intel Gen 9.5 graphic engine with 24 execution units for enhanced media conversion, fast frame rates and 4K ultra high definition (UHD) video and 3D multimedia performance.

It has compact dimensions of 120 x 120mm (4.72 x 4.72 inches). A heat spreader is an efficient thermal solution for space-limited environments, says Portwell, and makes the Nano-6051 suitable for fanless systems.

The embedded board also has DDR4 2400MHz non-ECC SO-DIMM up to 32Gbyte and storage interface 1x M.2 Key M 2280 socket for solid state devices (SSD).

Expansion capability is in the form of two USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbits per second) on rear I/O and four USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5Gbits per second) on the board header for fast data transmission with low power consumption. The design also includes a M.2 Key E 2230 socket for wireless module connectivity including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Intel I210AT and Intel I219LM Ethernet controllers provide dual Gigabit Ethernet LAN access via the two RJ-45 connectors. A RS-232/ 422/ 485 port is selectable by BIOS adjustment.

For graphics there is the Intel Gen 9.5 graphic engine which supports dual mini DisplayPort (DP) on the rear I/O with resolution up to 4096 x 2304. This provides multiple connections such as displays, graphic cards, cameras, storage and more on the same system.

For audio, there is a combo audio jack and DC 12V input on rear I/O, an ATX four-pin 12V on board, on-board TMP 2.0 for application security, and support for Microsoft Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, Ubuntu, real-time Yocto Project (YP) and Wind River operating systems (OS).

The Nano-6051 also takes advantage of technologies such as Intel Optane Memory, Turbo Boost, Hyper-Threading, Virtualization (VT-x), Thermal Monitoring, Trusted Execution and Speed Step.

Target applications are industrial factory automation, automated test equipment, semiconductor equipment, robotic control, automatic unmanned vehicle, medical/healthcare equipment, digital signage, industrial IoT gateway, digital security surveillance, broadcasting systems and transportation applications.
