Neutrik extends audio and broadcast connector offerings

A clutch of new connectors has been announced by Neutrik, including additions to its speakON series of audio connectors. The speakON NL4FXX and NL2FXX four-pole and two-pole cable connectors feature a locking boot to protect against unintended opening. They are also characterised by a two-compound housing to improve handling in daily operation, said Neutrik, making them easier and smoother to assemble, as the strain relief chuck snaps to the insert.

The company has also released the powerCON NAC3FXXA and NAC3FXXB cable connectors which are colour-coded blue for power in and grey for power out. The connectors conform to relevant device standards, including IEC62368-1, IEC60799 and UL817 and safety regulations that require power mains supply connectors to comply with IEC / EN / UL / CSA 60320-1. The company’s 60320-1-compliant power connectors cover the range of 6.0 to 16mm cable and wire gauges of AWG12 to AWG16 respectively 2.5mm² to 1.5mm².

Neutrik is also extending its opticalCON Advanced fibre portfolio with new MTP high speed, high capacity connectivity systems for point-to-point connections in pro AV and broadcast applications.

Two new additions to the series are the single mode opticalCON MTP16, and the multi-mode MTP48 offering 16 data channels and 48 data channels respectively in a single cable. These systems provide for high data capacity with high reliability, rapid set up, immediate playback, and cost optimisation per single fibre / data channel, while operating in the harshest conditions, said Neutrik.

The lightweight but rugged housing has a standard D-shape cutout, a reliable push/pull locking mechanism, automatic sealing shutter, and Neutrik’s anti-kink boot design. The small form factor connector is compatible with Neutrik’s FOCD-STC and FOCD-STM cleaning devices for maintenance in the field.

Neutrik has also introduced the Fiberfox HMA fibre optic connector system. It is terminated with LC patch connectors to convert a standardised LC patch cable into an expanded beam cable. This allows for maintenance and repair onsite. The replacement chassis to board connections are clipped in place with simple manual connection of common LC patch cords.

The Neutrik Group is headquartered in Schaan, Liechtenstein, and supplied professional entertainment and industrial connector products, including audio, video, fibre optic and Ethernet interconnect and digital network solutions. The company also manufactures a wide array of XLR connectors and receptacles, jacks and plugs, fibre optic connector systems and accessories for a broad range of customers, ranging from rock bands to lighting design and industrial equipment to broadcast systems.
