New Yorker supplies Vishay’s automotive-grade IHSR inductor

Capable of delivering current up to 155A, the Vishay Dale automotive-grade IHSR high-temperature inductor, the IHSR-6767GZ-5A is now available from distributor,

New Yorker Electronics. The AEC-Q200 qualified, high temperature, high current inductor is supplied in the 6767 case size, with dimensions of 19.0x 17.1 x 7.0mm.

It is designed for multi-phase, high current power supplies and I/O filters in automotive ‘under the hood’ and ADAS applications. The inductor offers a 50 per cent reduction in DCR over typical power inductors and a smaller size than similar ferrite-based devices, said New Yorker.

The automotive-grade inductor is optimised for energy storage in DC/DC converters up to 5MHz and high current filtering applications. It has an operating temperature range of up to +155 degrees C making it also suitable for filtering and DC/DC conversion in ADAS and lidar microprocessors for laser diodes with GaN MOSFETs, 12V / 48V vacuum-less braking systems, on-board chargers and brushless DC electric motors up to 140A. The inductors also exhibit high ambient temperature applications up to 85 degrees C.

Operating switching frequency is up to 1MHz (low voltage 12 to 5.0V).

Vishay said that the IHSR-6767GZ-5A’s low typical DCR of 0.24 mOhm and inductance of 0.22 microH allow for higher current density than competing technologies, with no hard saturation and more stable inductance and saturation over the operating temperature range.

Packaged in a 100 per cent lead (Pb)-free shielded, composite construction that reduces buzz noise, the inductor offers high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, and mechanical shock, and handles high transient current spikes without saturation. The device is RoHS-compliant and halogen-free.

New Yorker Electronics supplies Vishay Dale discrete semiconductors (diodes, MOSFETs and infrared optoelectronics) and passive electronic components (resistors, inductors and capacitors).
