Omni Pro Electronics adds Conta-Clip’s PPRS relay

Equipped with a push-in connection mechanism, Conta-Clip’s PPRS relay system is now available from Omni Pro Electronics.

The Conta-Clip relay is the latest version of Conta-Clip’s plug-in connection relay system. It is a plug-in DIN-rail relay socket base with a push-in connection which “significantly reduce” the time required for wiring, said Omni Pro.

The PPRS relay socket base is available in one, two or four switching contacts.  The PPRS2 is a push-in relay socket base for miniature power relays with two CO contacts. In addition, 1CO high load or inrush relay will fit into the PPRS2 socket. Its counterpart the PPRS4 works with four contacts.

Both the PPRS2 and PPRS4 have a rated switching voltage of 300V AC with an 8A current max and an operating temperature range of -20 to +70 degrees C.  They are IP20 and UL 94 V-0 rated and are REACH- and RoHS-compliant.

The series also provides two relay holding clips for use with either relay socket base. The PPRSC2 and PPRSC4, for use with the PPRS2 and PPRS4 bases respectively, are holding clips with an eject intended for industrial use. The accessory range also includes the pluggable and touch-proof external cross-connection system AQI/PPRS for potential distribution to adjacent socket bases.

Other feature options include snap-on brackets that fix the relays in place and also hold MC-MM-series markers.

As a franchised distributor, Omni Pro Electronics supplies Conta-Clip’s full inventory of terminal blocks, cable management systems, electrical and electronic switchgear cabinet components, marking systems, housings, PCB terminals and connectors.

Omni Pro listed the features and benefits of the PPRSC2 and PPRSC4, in addition to convenient, tool-free push-in connection. The design has sockets for 1CO, 2CO or 4CO relays, one test pick-off option per connection and easy mounting of a marker in the holding clamp. They offer simple mounting on DIN rail TS 35, or direct mounting options.
