Omni Pro Electronics offers Halo Electronics’ Ethernet transformers

Standard and extended temperature 2.5G and 5G Ethernet transformers with PoE, PoE+ and 4PPoE (+90W) capabilities developed by Halo Electronics are available from Omni Pro Electronics.

The 2.5G and 5G Ethernet transformers address the increasing data rates of enterprise networking equipment and the higher bandwidth requirements of wireless access points. These data rates offer increased data transfer over 1G using existing cable installs in the transition to 10G data rates. They also have lower power consumption per port when compared to 10G, said Omni Pro.

The Halo transformers are available in the NZ and NZ5 industry standard packages and standard and extended temperature versions. The discrete Ethernet transformers are designed to meet or exceed the IEEE802.3bz standard.

The 2.5G / 5G data rate (also known as Multi-Gig, NBASE-T and MGBASE-T). transformers support three-, four- and five-speed backwards compatibility with slower data rates.

The transformers are in a surface mount package with a footprint that is interchangeable with other Halo Gigabit and 10G transformers.

The manufacturer has also announced the Nano2.5G series of miniature transformers, available in PoE, PoE+, and 4PPoE (60W) options.

Halo Electronics manufactures its products ISO9001 and ISO14001-certified factories for quality assurance. As a franchise distributor, Omni Pro Electronics supplies the complete line of Halo Electronics’ communication magnetics including signal transformers, CMR chokes, PoE flyback transformers, DC/DC converters, low power transformers and Ethernet connectors.

Omni Pro Electronics is located in Addison, Texas, USA. It is a franchised distributor of electronic components with an inventory of industrial control and board-level components used in a broad array of industrial, commercial and aerospace/defence applications. Specialising in interconnect, electromechanical and passive Components, it is a member of ECIA (Electronics Component Industry Association) and of ERAI (Electronic Resellers Association International).
